I am having problems keeping my smoke hollow 41170 below 235
I am using the maverick 732 to verify the temp.
Sand in the water tray and pellet tube smoker.

Any helpful hints would be apreiciated!

I had the same problem with my GOSM, it wouldn't go below 250*. I installed a needle valve  and with it I could get down to 185* and had a lot better control dialing in the temp. I wanted to go lower (120*) to be able to smoke jerky so I took the side burner off my gas grill (it is about 1" smaller in diameter) and replaced the stock burner in my GOSM with it and now I can get down to 135*.
