My sympathies Travcoman45,

I think any person who has been in the construction trade probably has had a wild ride down the wall to the ground on a ladder and it happens "right now" I know I have and when it has happened you couldn't drive a toothpick up my butt with a jackhammer..not that I would want to ..but you get my drift..

Sorry for what you went through man...Hope tomorrow is better..Oh...and sorry for laughing..I couldn't help myself...

I guess that brings to mind a question I have on the subject..why is it that someone won't crack a smile all day long, but if someone smacks their thumb with a hammer, people can't stop snickering?...myself included...

Seriously though, I fell backwards over a two foot fence last spring while tilling my garden and my arse hurt for a couple of weeks and there wasn't even any chaw involved. You have my sympathy and also my admiration for a post that cracked me up. Get it - cracked!! Har!

Man oh Man tip I glad your alright well kinda well not that bad hurt. It's is funny I have been in construction all my life and yes I have fallen from a helper/partner stupidity. Well atleast you yelled so everyone could watch. Tip haven't you been there long enough yetthat all you have to do is point and yell?? Atleast I'm the boss around here but now days there's not enough going on that I have anyone to point at. ok well now let me look at what I typed cause I was laughing so hard I been crying while typing this whole thing. Sorry and take a day or two off on me.

Dang, Tip you had me laughing so hard my eyes were watering. I was doing a roofing job a long time ago and was half way up the ladder with a load of shingles over my shoulder when all of a sudden the ladder was yanked out from underneath me. It seemed like time slowed down, because before I hit the ground I threw the bundle of shingles off my shoulder, let go of the ladder rung and grabbed the side rails so I wouldn't bust my knuckles on impact, I ended up landing on all fours on top of the ladder, getting the wind knocked out of me; tearing the muscles in my left shoulder and pinching a nerve between the shoulder blades-all which still gives me problems some 30 years later.

There was a rope wrapped around the bottom rung of the ladder and it trailed off round the side of the house we were working on. Anyhoo, the boss (always a stickler for a clean and "safe" work area) sees the rope and starts coiling it up. When he ran out of slack he yanked on the rope not knowing that said rope was wrapped around the bottom rung of the ladder that I was half way up. It was a serious moment then, but we all laugh about it now.
