New to smokin. From Northwest IL. Have an old but never used Char-Broil H2O electric smoker. Please take me by the hand and help get started. What would be a good place to start with all this. First meat to do etc...?

What would be good reading here?

Anyone with this unit that could give advice on it's use and if you made any modifications.

Welcome to the forum!

Pork butts are a great place to start!

Like Dave said above, there is the five day course and a ton of bbq cookbooks,

Pork butts are great tasting and very forgiving for your first attempt.

Have fun

Marty
