ThermoWorks Smoke Malfunction ....

I've had the Smoke about a year and a half... I rarely use the Receiver when I use it... Tried the receiver today while checking my RV fridge ... Wouldn't pick up the signal from the transmitter .. So here I go trying all different options to get the two to connect.. nothing.. change batteries in both units... still nothing.. Anybody encounter this problem with the ThermoWorks Smoke ???
