Im in need of new thermometer recommendations, do you prefer wired,or wireless, thanks for any recommendations

Myself I prefer wired with it's own receiver ... Keeps from screen time... Plus, I don't own a cell phone..

I use Thermoworks Smoke

a quick search

edit; signing up for Thermoworks newsletter puts you in the weekly drawing for the Thermapen 1 ... But also alerts you of a sale in case it's not mentioned on the board ... Sales will come out for the upcoming seasons...

Thermoworks are good, so are ThermoPro. There are a lot of choices among those two brands. I use a wired ThermoPro TP20 ( I think ) the most but have wireless for rotisserie.

My experience is pretty limited, but I'm very pleased with Fireboard 2. Connection and accuracy have been great. I've only used an ambient probe and 2 meat probes. Accommodates 6 total.

I posted this question on Reddit this morning (link). I'm considering getting the TempPro TempSpike Pro. Any current owners/users out there who can comment on it?

Y'all are discussing units that are used WHILE cooking, but I just wanted to drop in and let anyone that doesn't know, ThermoWorks will discount their latest "Nano" Thermapen from $119 to $79 for current owners of the Thermapen Classic. I'm in their records from ordering the classic so I didn't even have to provide a serial number or anything.

Still have to pay taxes and shipping of course.

You have to call them, the offer is not shown on the web site. I decided to grab one and move my Classic in to the kitchen for baking, etc..
