Maui, Hi.
Aloha,

A friend of mine selected the Green Egg as his smoker of choice. He asked me what thermometer would I recommend for his smoking purposes. I am a Maverick fan (ET-73). I'd like to recommend other reputable brands for his consideration. Could you make your recomendations? Thanks all ... :>)

I also have a maverick ET 72 and it works just fine the remoe is alittle screwy sometimes ut alright is a good work for it. I also have a couple of others a Pyrex one thats good and a couple of wally world ones also that work wel too. The biggest thing I think is to test all your thermo meters often so you know that they are right. So smoke on and test alot too.

Sorry Poi I can only recommend the ET-73. It works for me and have have no issues with it. So I haven't bought any other brands...yet

Recommend what you know and use. That is the best recommendation that you can give.

If it's a remote therm he's looking for the ET 73 is a good choice. If a remote isn't necessary I can recommend the Taylor 1470. It's a very nice digital that can be used to probe the meat or use it as a chamber probe.
