My thermopro is on the fritz and my factory installed thermometer isn't reliabl . I have about a 50 to 75 degree difference between the two. How do I gauge this thing?!

Buy a new remote thermometer. It would be rolling the dice, but manage your temps to account for the difference you have already established. You did not say if the temp difference is plus or minus what your Thermopro was reading, but add or subtract at least 50° to the factory thermometer and keep it running there.

Is the factory installed therm consistent in it's inaccuracy? What I mean is if it's always been the same amount of degrees either above or below what your thermopro read during prior smokes. Then go by that. My WSM factory therm is always 25 to 30 degrees higher then my digital therms. So when my WSM therm is reading 250 I know my smoker is really around 220 to 225.

For a short term fix. You can go to your local grocer and buy one of those oven thermometers. They coast about 5.00 and work fairly well. I still use one for old times sake.
