And it was a happy accident. Haven't been able to find my McRib mold since moving. Daughter said "Why not do it smashburger style?" Freakin' brilliant!

Formed ground pork patties into a rectangular shape, seasoned with my Baba Yaga Rub, and tossed them on the griddle. Then proceeded to smash them down with my rectangular Blackstone press. Once done, assembled onto a hoagie roll, with patty, smoked gouda (which I hit with the torch to get nice and melty), another patty, homemade pickles, onions, and some Franklin's BBQ Sauce. Side was some homemade fries off the super-bougie Harbor Freight potato press deep fried in some smoked beef tallow. And of couse, a Miller Lite. I didn't get any pictures during the cook as I was fighting off these god-forsaken lovebugs the whole time, but here's the completed shot.

And one of the homemade pickles I got before heading outside.

Really wanted to eat outside, but had to move back inside and the lovebugs must REALLY like McRibs. They are a pox on SE Texas right now....not a fan.

And a Dad joke for ya...

What's the last thing that goes through lovebug's brain before he hits the windshield?

His Butt!!!

Man...I've tried everything to get rid of them, or atleast lessen their numbers. Even went as far as loading up the Mosquito Sniper with bifen and hitting nearly every inch of our property....

...they seem to have tripled after that. 😞

Great idea and great photos! I bet that sammich was tasty!

It was good but tated more kike a burger than a McRib. I really need to find my mold. I know its in one of 32 boxes than remain unpacked.

Also, unpictured is the real hero, my daughter, who was just out of frame swatting lovebugs away so that I could get a quick picture before we ran inside.

Great meal My son loved McRib back in the day

Try adding some glycerin to the bifen spray so it stays moist. I do that for the boxelder bugs.
Lovebugs are annoying. I haven't looked into what attracts them to a bait station.
Not sure if lovebugs are worse than skeeters and yellow jackets as we move north for the summer. Very dry this summer up north so almost no skeeters. I took out most of the yellow jacket assault by trapping about 60 queens this spring.

Looks amazing! You had me at the McRib mold. Had to look those up. Was yours made from silicone?
