So quite a while back SmokinAl posted a slicer for sale which caught my eye I have one but it's old and not that great. While we both live in Fl we are a long ways apart so I didn't say anything. I thought about or saw the thread again or something about 5 or 6 months ago and asked him about it and he said he still had it and would love to see an SMF member get it and offered it to me for a great price. We exchanged a couple PM's and he said he'd hold onto it until I could get down there to pick it up. I figured I'd go down to the South Florida Gathering which isn't all that far from Al's place or I'd get Doug Mays to bring it home with him and pick it up there Doug is less than 1/2 the distance to Al's. Well of course the Gathering was canceled do to a storm and the campground being closed because of it so I didn't get it. Fast forward to this week and I had to drive a couple hundred miles south so I got ahold of Al and asked if he'd be home on Friday and he said he would be. Left here on Thursday and spent the night south of here and got to go out to dinner with my grand daughters then left Friday morning for the 3 hour drive down to Al's. Got down there and met Al and picked up the slicer and headed back north figuring I'd drive till I got tired then stop for another night before getting home. The weather was crappy rain off and on mostly on so I just kept driving by the time I figured out I was hungry and kind of tired I was close enough to home it didn't make sense to stop for the night stopped into a rest area got a snack and diet pepsi and came on home. So a 10 hour drive down from where I stayed then back to my house but I was back home with a nice new to me slicer that is almost in brand new condition.
Thanks again Al I appreciate it

That looks a lot like my 10” LEM Big Bite slicer. You will enjoy that for sure. Well worth the trouble.

Nice slicer and good on Al for holding it for an SMF member! There is a lot off that goodness that happens here for sure.

Nice looking slicer! And great for Al for holding it for you! Look forward seeing it put to use!

Nice slicer! Very nice of Al to hold for you. Hope you'll share some pics when you start using it.

Beautiful slicer! What's first?
Ok what is first? For sure a nice find and great of Al to hold it for you.

I have some pork bellies in the freezer as well as some boneless butts so I need to defrost them and get them into cure. That will probably be first unless I find a sirloin tip roast on sale before the bacon gets ready lol

Jerry... I also had my eye on it as Al was offering a hell of a deal ... even though I already have a Hobart.. it's old.. but still slices/works good... Just that Al's was cleaner/newer and I was gonna sell mine if I had gotten that one... I guarantee it was well worth the trip...

Good on you Al... as you are a great individual ....

It was great to meet you Jerry, & I’m sure you will get a lot of use out of that slicer. Especially if you have a spot on the counter where you can keep it. It’s a dream to use & is really easy to clean! Have fun my friend!
