When I joined in April, I had smoked some. I had several smokers and the last was an ECB, mayby used it 5 times a year.

I then found this site and got a MES shortly after. I immediately bought the premier membership to support this great site, 15.00 no big deal.

I have found so much information here it is unbelieaviable.

I have also formed some good friendships here.

I now smoke many times a week as fast as we can eat it. I have created many things that are out of this world because of the help and knowledge found here.

And for the newbies here, search what your looking to accomplish. If you can't find it just ask.

The members are very friendly and always ready to help.

Thanks Jeff, and all the members here and my new founded friends.

This place has changed my life, thank you.

And, happy smokes to all.
Ron

I gotta hand it to you man.
You sure do smoke.
That popcorn thing was wild.
Gotta a suggestion there.
Smoke the BIG Crystals like the good folks said.
Let em sit to your taste.
THEN, put em in your food processor and pulse grind to "popcorn salt" crystals. LOTS cheaper that way too. They charge out the ying yang for popcorn salt on a per ounce basis. Huge profit maker for Mortons.
I mean, what do they think that is? Himalayan Pink or Fleur de Sel? Heh.

Try it, you'll save a bunch and you'll love it.
Grind to whatever size crystals suit your taste.

Keep on smokin ronp! :) Glad we met here!

Oh and P.S. you can just grind up regular Mortons as well turns to popcorn salt FAST.

Cheers

Thanks V Man I'm glad we met up also. Thanks for the tip.

Well, that was nice of you to say. Thanks.

Well, it is the truth. I have been on other forums for gambling and such. You always had to watch your back, and all the flaming going on. Hell, I have an inactive forum and I had to be a babysitter all the time. http://itslasvegasbaby.yuku.com/
And no, that is not a plug. I haven't even looked there forever, looks like it is all jacked up.

Anyway, this post is not about me, but SMF. The most helpful people are right here. A GREAT family and thanks to the moderators for keeping it that way.

I have said from the beginning if you can't get the answer here there probably isn't one. If you are new here, just keep learning, you'll get the help you need.

THANKS AGAIN, SMF and the gang here.

Ron

I didn't read all the posts on the salt. But I smoke kosher salt just to add to my poultry brines as well as table use. I just use a pie tin and stir up the salt every half hour or so and it always come out with a nice amber color. ( maybe I shoulda posted this in the salt thread)

Hea Ron!!!! u have pretty much sized up my feelings as well... all the great people who give advice and all the friendships formed. All a result from just wanting to learn how to put some smoke to a piece of meat. Itts been a pleasure to get to know yo Ron as well as many others here. thks for putting this up. prolly a lot of people thinking same thoughts!!!

mighty fine words Ron-we are a fortunate bunch we are!thanks to everyone involved.

Ronp100343 expressed my thoughts about SMF, yet SMF doesn't survive without some fine people making SMF interesting with their regular posts, help, information, etc. When I decided to buy a smoker the site I found with the best info was SMF. As I kept narrowing my choices, and settled on an electric MES, I kept running across Ron's posts, plus several others that seemed knowledgeable. I can honestly say that I joined SMF because of Ron.

No I'm not going to hug you, but hey it's cool to hang out at SMF and read your posts.

One other MES spe******t Illini has always captured my interest, I have read most of his posts. His "contraption" is like nirvana for the MES.

There are many others, that deserve mention, but hey this is about SMF and I'm very appreciative that SMF exists.

Thanks WC.

Erain, my pleasure also.

Thanks Kelly.

Thanks. Maybe some day you will.

We are very fortunate. A fine bunch here.

Thanks, Jeanie.

Wow, I'm glad you decided to stay. I am dissapointed about the hug though.

LOL

You are welcome.

Thanks everyone.

I'm with you there Ron. SMF has been a big influence on me personally. Now when I go to the store I'm looking at which cuts of meat I want to try smoking. When I'm riding down the road and see a tank of any kind I'm thinking of cutting it up and building a smoker. Just today I followed a vacuum tank truck off the wrong exit because it had this sweet stainless tank on the back that looked perfect for smoking. It's become an obsession I think. :) It has been great meeting new people on here and sharing experiences. Thanks for your insights and guidance Ron and thanks to the rest of you too.

I guess you got it below.

Thanks tee.

Thanks S G . I appreciate it. As I said earlier this is not about me, but the SMF members here that helped me and anyone who needs help. I did that tonight and found some turkey breasts for .99 a pound. If I wasn't smokin' I wouldn't even been looking.

Thanks to all of you making this place, a happening place.

I gotta get in on this. Much mahalo's for all the help & info. I've said it before and I'll say it forever, this is a great bunch of people.
