Thanks to everyone here who helped make my maiden smoke a smashing success! It rained on my twice, and my wife nearly walked out on me during the frustrating football knock-out fiasco, but it was all worth it.

Everybody loved the pulled pork, but the star of the show was the smoked turkey legs. Holy crap, those were amazing!!! I brined em, rubbed em, smoked em, and ate em! They were so good, I hid one from my guests so I could eat it for dinner tonight. The ABTs were a hit as well. And all my friends loved all the mods on the smoker. Everytime I explained to somebody the purpose of the dryer vent, they reacted like it was the cure for cancer. I didn't take credit for the idea, but I'm not sure if they made the distinction.

Special thanks to Craig (I think) whose baffle design I stole. It worked so well that the firebox side was about 10* cooler than the other side! I'll just drill some more holes for next time (which will probably be this weekend and will certainly involve more turkey legs).

Thanks again. This whole site was super-valuable. Hopefully one day I'll be able to help out some other dude who doesn't know what he's doing.

Some of the guys just gave you a nudge. In the end, the success was yours'. Glad it worked out well for you.

Congrats on a great smoke and Q too. Just goes to show you what friendly folks will do and share with others. It's all good my friend.

Nice job Gaga! It's nice when it finally all come together!

Glad we could help! I am glad the baffle worked for you too! All the hard work makes the meat that much sweeter.
