Temperture fork

My wife says to me look what I found at a garage sale a fork to measure the temperature of your briskets.. I said that can't be any good . And then I looked at it and it says maverick Co on it...
Did they really make this? Is it good?

mine is out in the storage room, next to the smoker. I will take a look at mine tomorrow. If it has the batteries in it, boil up some water and test it to see how close to 212 it is.

Got a temp fork for a Christmas gift many years ago from an inlaw?

I really think it came from a dollar store.

Tried it once.  Then into the trash.

It seems to work well, though I don't use it much. I really don't like to keep poking my meats and letting the juices run out.
