Sweet and Savory Wild Rice Sausage Apple Dressing

2.5qt saucepan
12" frying pan
9x13 casserole pan
Preheat oven to 350°

Ingredients
2c wild rice
1lb pork sausage, any flavor.
4c chicken broth or stock
3T unsalted butter
1/4c brown sugar
1.5c celery with leaves, chopped
1.5c onion, chopped. Can sub sweet, pearl or green onion.
1c pecan pieces. Can sub any nut.
2c apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/4c fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1T fresh thyme, minced
1 pinch of Nutmeg

Cook rice in chicken stock, set aside.
Melt butter and saute the onion, celery, apple, thyme and nutmeg together.
Add in the sausage into the mix and cook till the pink just disappears.
Combine the wild rice, veg/apple mix, brown sugar, pecans and parsley.
Place in casserole dish and cook covered for 30 minutes.

Yep good stuff
Also works with a 50-50 mix of wild and long grain rice.

In a hurry? A box of Uncle Bens with added pork sausage works, too.
