Headed up to Springfield yesterday to look at that oscillating drill press at Grizzly from another thread here. Didnt really like it so didnt buy it. Since was in town had to stop at Costco and grab a 3 cryovac package of STL spares for today. They still had prime boneless whole Ribeye roasts for sale for $15.99 / lb. Hard to pass up at that price but bought one last week and freezer is completely full so passed. Did some honeydo things in the morning. Installed a pressure vacuum break for a sprinkler system. My landscaper said I didnt need one. Think it is bs he didnt install one especially at what he charged for the work. He did great work a couple years ago in front yard. Bunch stuff i didnt like this go round.

Fired up the yoder around noon. Put ribs on at one. Was originally just going to make two slabs. Good thing I cooked em all. Daughter had a girl friend over to craft some stuff. Then while up in rec room trying to get ready for my golf trip in AZ next week two more of my kids HS boy friends showed up to hang out. So dinner for four unexpectedly turned into seven. Wrapped with butter pads and sauce after 3 hours and kept wrapped for 45 min. Removed from foil, sauced and let set. Being teenagers, they finished off all the ribs. Had a vinegar based coleslaw and bushes low sugar baked beans for sides. Dinner was served at 5:15. Ribs were fall off the bone like the wifey prefers. Gotta let her have her way once in a while. I prefer a little tug with the bite. Wife was planning on leftovers but that didn’t work out. Turned out pretty tasty.

Edited to show the crafting. Way more artsy than I ever have been. Pretty cool results.

Watching teenagers eat reminds me of watching the wildlife shows and a feeding frenzy.
Lucky to have your hands intact for the golf trip.

Looks good!

Question about your sprinkler system, do you have pop-up sprinkler heads?

Looks great! What didn't you like about the drill press?
I have an older Jet 15" floor drill press and this one wasn't better than what I already had. The table was small and didnt care for the handle. The spindle also seemed small. I may have liked it if given the opportunity to try it. Just be better off buying a separate spindle sander in my case. I was going to give mine to a friend who has been looking as it is a little beat up from several moves but still works well.

Jet equipment is top notch. Especially the older stuff.
