Here recently I've really wanted to smoke something every Sunday was debating a turkey breast or a whole chicken but while going to the Kroger they had Boston Butts on sale for 1.29 a pound so grabbed a couple of smaller ones and my wife suggested a recipe from a BBQ joint she had before called a barn potato. Pretty much it's a baked potato with pulled pork, bbq sauce, baked beans, cheese, sour cream and green onions. So decided to prep and put my rub on the butt this morning instead of over night and through it on around 8 this morning. Fat cap down and smoked it for like 5 hours until I poured a little brown sugar butter apple juice mix on it and wrapped it in foil. 3 hours later my thermometer slid in like a knife through butter and it was reading 206 but trying to get a better feel for when stuff feels down rather then just going by temp. Also smoked the potatoes as well. Smoked everything at 250 the pork for 8.5 hours and potatoes for 3 hours and really happy with how everything turned out. From help on here and watching numerous YouTube videos from The Dawgfather BBQ, Mad Scientist BBQ and Chuds BBQ along with the community and help from here I'm enjoying smoking alot more and think I'm a bit addicted to it.

Looks good. I call them pig taters. Got a couple threads about them around here somewhere. It's a fantastic way to use up some pulled pork. Nice work bud

Definitely looks tasty as heck! And honestly...you had me at potatoes lol!
