The ash is more than lump, not quite as much as regular Kingsford produces but not that far off. It burns pretty long and doesn't have that "Kingsford smell" to it. Just my personal preference for charcoal but I don't use lump so for me Stubb's is the way to go.
Thanks...I've been looking at it in Lowes every time I go by..lol.
I put a gravity feed firebox on the smoker and a lot of ash (like kingsford level) can clog things up. Guess I'll keep going with lump :). Thanks again for the review.
I love Stubbs charcoal! It's the only thing I'll buy now! I like it better than Kingsford. Good for long smokes and grilling.Just like Fire it up said,no odor to it like Kingsford. And it seems to last longer.
I started using Stubb’s All Wood Briquettes when I bought my Char-Griller Akorn. It works very well for me and was able to gain low and slow temps with it. I also found some Frontier Mesquite Lump at Dollar General and now I mix the two for a little more smoke. Next I want to add hardwoods in the mix.
