Thanks for the replies, and yes, I am sorry I didn't post it earlier.

The event was a success, and its been at least 6-7 yrs since we have done anything like this as a group. We did have quite a few folks stop by and see what was up.

early in the event, about an hr before the guests where to be arriving. Just a few volunteers around to help out.

In the mean time, the night before, I camped out at my buddy Kurt's house, he is our clubs treasurer, and tourney director for the summer tourneys. The family helped me set up and get ready for the all-niter! after I sent them to bed around 12:30 am the 12 butts and 1 beef brisket were loaded into the cooker!

the cool calm night air was refreshing, and the neighborhood remained quiet. by 3-4 am, the smell was awesome. here is a pic of the meats at the 5 hr mark, it's 5:30 am on saturday now.

The morning hrs were quite uneventfull, and by 11 am we had the meats wrapped in foil and ready for the park.We found a great spot in the busy park that was shaded and next to the river/boat launch. You can't just ask a bunch of river ratts to come together without bringin their boats!

and others brough some nice boats too! I think these guys are very anxious to get after some fall crome!

The food was great(pat on the back) and alot of folks did a great job making side dishes and volunteering to help. I didn't do a head count, but I seriously think we had 50 or so folks sit down and chat/eat with us. The weather was awesome, as was the fellowship and fun.Great to see the families and friends get together after the long summer.
