Good Morning All and a happy 4th!

I am new to the forum. I need to know more about the stall with the pork shoulder. I have been stuck at 180 for about an hour and a half. I've been at a consistent 230-240 for 12 hours come 12:15.

Is this normal?

Probe it, if the probe goes in easily with no resistance, it may be done. Butts can be done at temps that low. What size is the butt, you left that bit of info out.

My bad. It was a 8.5lb shoulder. I pulled on the bone it started to come out. I probed the shoulder with the thermometer and it went in with little resistance. I went ahead and pulled it off. My guess is my thermometer is bad. It was a cheap one from Target.
