An elderly Mother in her eighties was admitted to a retirement home by members of her family who promised to visit her around lunchtime the next day to see how she had settled in.
The care was second to none, starting her day with a hearty breakfast. She was later assisted to bathe, her hair was washed, trimmed and styled, and she was given a manicure. Finally she was placed in a comfortable armchair overlooking the bright, sunny garden.
After a while, she slowly leaned at quite an angle to her left side. 2 very attentive nurses/carers quickly sat her upright to prevent her from falling out of her chair. Not too much later on, she slowly but surely swayed to her right side. Once again the attentive carers prevented her from falling and sat her upright.
This went on for a considerable time, left or right, with the carers quickly attending to her. Soon, her family arrived to see her and ask how she had settled in.
"Oh they've really looked after me," she said, adding, "but they won't let me fart."
