Hi guys and gals, its been quite a spell since i ventured into these lands. Like the title says , it will be my son's 6th birthday tomorrow and we are having a big party (about 70 guests). Im making 3 briskets, 2 pork butts, 6 racks of ribs, and like 8lbs of chicken. Plus all the sides, mac salad, mexican street corn salad, pit beans and other snacks and what not. Im currently smoking the briskets and they are almost ready. Once they cool down a little bit i will rest them in the masterbuilt 30 for 12-16 hrs. The ribs i smoked yesterday and will just reheat, and the butts will be going on after the briskets. I feel like i have more than enough meat but since i've never cooked for that many people before i'm kinda second guessing myself. I rather have leftovers than not enough. So hopefully everyone likes it and is happy. I have a new respect for the pro pitmasters. Its a lot of work and it aint nothing compared to how much protein they have to process. Anyway wish me luck and i'll give an update tomorrow.

Sounds like a great menu! Can’t wait to see all the pictures but I’m sure it will be a great day and your son will love it

Happy birthday to him, plan sounds solid hope all goes well.

Unless there are a lot of teenage boys you will have plenty of leftover meat. I just cooked for a golf fundraiser, we figured about 100 people, I smoked 3 packer briskets and 2 whole bone in butts. In the end all that was left was a handful of brisket. One thing for sure, I think you are covered. Be watching for the pics. Oh and Happy Birthday to your boy.

Looking forward to the finale! And a happy birthday to your son!

Ryan
