Something Strange

This was odd. Been smoking for about a year now. Smoked Salmon yesterday. Read salmon can stink up smoker and to turn up the heat when finished to "clean it out". Did that. Went to clean smoker today and had an odd charged ash literally from top to bottom in my smoker. One strand went from grates to lid. Never seen anything like it. Anyone seen this before?
