I just need to know if i can leave the insulation. Its going to be a verticle stick smoker with a detached fire box.

It was a refrigerator. I wonder if I insulated the inside by lining it with cedar 1x boards if I would still need to remove it.
From what I have read removing it is a tough and time consuming task.

1" boards might help. Never heard of anyone doing that.
