So Cal
Hey guys. I'm looking for some advise and a little help. Still fairly new to smoking meat. But I need advise on what is more available here in SoCal and were to get large quantity at and decent price. Bass Pro Shop seems expensive and our local box stores don't seem to have quality wood... Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated...

You have the same problem a lot of us have!

Don't you just envy those guys that can just chop down some dead tree & use it in their smoker.

I trim the oak tree in my back yard for a little wood, but generally I have to buy bagged wood.

We get mostly oak & hickory down here & a bag of splits costs about $5.

The bag is good for about one 6-8 hour smoke in my offset.

Hope you find a good source where your at.

Al
