Smoking Events in Wisconsin? Where to get wood in Wisconsin?

I see that this forum is rather inactive, but thought I would take a shot with a couple of questions.

Are there any good/popular smoking events in Wisconsin that you know of?  I've never done much of a search, but have attended the Pig in the Pines competition a couple of times in late July in St. Germain.

Also, do you have any suggestions for gathering some good smoking woods (oak is preferred) in the Milwaukee area?
