Smokin in South Carolina

Hi, my name is Steve and I'm a novice when it comes to true smoking. As my title implies I'm from South Carolina, upstate part. My buddy and I have been hot smoking in his barrel smoker for a few years and this week my wife ordered me a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker for my birthday. I'm excited to try out many new things (havent decided what to do first though). I also took it upon myself to order me a Amazen-Pellet box so that I can cold smoke too. I've never attempted cold smoking or curing but am looking forward to it most of all. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the the way. Thanks everyone.
