Im sure I have seen it brought up before here. Is galvanized metal suitable for a smoker? I have a galavanized tank in my basement that is about a 40 gal. tank by my estimation from the old well system. Ok to use or move onto scrap pile?

I would not use the galvanized tank! If you get it hot enough it will put off some poisonous fumes. It takes a lot of heat to do that but I wouldn't want to take the chance on something you will be cooking food in.

Thats what I kind of thought, Ive seen it before but wasnt sure of the reason for not using it. Thanks for the reply
