Hello all, I new here, found this site looking for answers to my questions so i thought would ask you guys.

I just built a 6 ft by 6 ft by7 foot tall walk in smoke house on a concreate pad. Its 2 by4 frame with t&g siding. I have aluminum 3 feet up the inside walls. No insulation.

I am in eastern Washington and it will be used in spring and fall. No winter smoking

I will try and take pics tomorrow

for smoke I have the A-MAZE-N Pellet Smoker tray

plan on using it for Sausage, pepperoni, cheese, bacon, nothing that needs super hot

My questions are heating related. I am thinking propane 40,000 btu using this burner

I plan to use black pipe so I can have the Venturi and needle valve outside the smoke house.

Now i am reading a its a good idea to have a "flame out protector". Good to know

So here are my questions

Anyone have a link to a "flame out protector" ? I cant find it anywhere.

Is 40,000 btu to much for the 6 by 6 house?

Am I screwing this plan up? Meaning are there better propane options out there?

a swear I have been going down the internet rabbit hole for days and I am getting more confused the more I look.

Please help

Yup you got the answer from Dave he seems to know all about these items and where to find them. Safety is always first.

I think it's close to perfect... If worse comes along, you may have to sheet the inside with 3/8" plywood or more T&G pine... and a heat diffuser / thermal mass may also be in order..

40,000 BTU might be about right for you. If it still runs too hot, you might want to use 4D nails and plug the outer ring of jets. This will half the BTU's and allow you to run the inner ring of flames taller which will prevent blowouts. You will also have a very fine control over the heat.
