Picked up a 4lb Tomahawk and Sam's. Hadn't done one in a while.
For the rub I used a mix, half of an all purpose rub and half Montreal steak. Rubbed and rested in the fridge for 5 hours.
225 in the MES with a mix of pecan and cherry. Hit 120 IT in a little after 2 hours.
As the temp came up, I cranked the grill for about half hour, had it about 550.
Went directly from the smoker to the grill for 5 minutes on each side. Came up to 140 IT
Rested in foil for 20 mins before cutting
Yes I cut it the wrong direction, but I cut it 1/4 in slices that you could cut with a fork.

Your steak turned out well and tasty looking. We thoroughly enjoy all the steaks from Costco. Always get prime. On our last visit to our son's home, he treated us to a couple of tomahawk steaks and crab legs.

Nicely done steaks. Looks tasty.

Point for sure

Seeing the results Shifty Spooner achieved I’m going give his smoke first then grill a try. Our closest Costco is 80 miles away in Tucson; I am south east down near the border. My son has one less than 5 miles away in the Phoenix area. I usually by a lot of steaks (and ribs) when we go and I break it all down and vacuum seal and freeze.
