Smoked Deviled Egg Question

Looking to make some deviled eggs for Christmas gatherings.  Is it better to;

A) smoke eggs in smoker from raw state, then make deviled eggs

B) Hard boil, peel, then smoke for a bit and then make deviled eggs

C) Hard boil, make deviled eggs, place on tray and cold smoke for a couple hours

I have seen it done on here only once by smoking the egg from its raw state still in the shell.

I've made smoked deviled eggs bunches of times, using a recipe that I got from dirtsailor2003. You get a mild smokey taste, which is delicious but not overpowering.   Based on dirtsailor2003's advice to me, here is what I do:

Cajun Smoked Deviled Eggs

Boil eggs for 1 minute, then cover and let rest for 15 minutes
Drain, put under cold running water, then shell
Cold smoke the whole shelled hardboiled eggs for 2 hours using apple dust in a AMNS or AMNPS (i.e. don't apply heat)
Slice the eggs in half, mix yolks with mayo, pickle relish, and Tony Chachere Cajun seasoning to taste (no extra salt needed)

Eat!

We love smoked deviled eggs.  Our favorite and one that quickly disappears at pot lucks is a smoked, spicy hot, pickled deviled egg topped with a spear of smoked salmon through a slice of black olive.

To smoke, the pickled egg is halved, the yoke removed and the whites only are cold smoked, this allows more surface area to be covered with smoke.  The length of time smoked will depend on your smoker and taste.  Then proceed with your deviled egg recipe.

Note:  I agree with DS and Clarissa, Tony's makes everything better.  It is the only salt found on our dinning table.

I do what clarissa does via case's recipe with a little sriracha on top too. I did throw some eggs on with a burger I smoked the other morning but have not deviled them. I think the cold smoke gives more flavor.
