Hello, all I need a little assistance I am building my first smoker out of two left over air compressors one is 1/4 thick (cooking chamber) and the other is 3/16 for the firebox the end plate will be 1/4 for the cap and door, I used the calculator that I found doing searches for my build, my question is this for the smokestack I am using a 41 1/2 square 1/2 piece of steel I am right at were the calculator says it needs to be I want to extend the spoke stack into the chamber to the cooking grates. Does this measurement of height mater were it starts for instance will I be good at the grates, or does the measurement start at the top part of the chamber and needs to be 41 inches from the top of the smoker? I will be at least 9 inches down into the cooking chamber if I do what I want to do. Thanks for any assistance and replies.
