Anyone use those smoke generators? If so, how do they work. I am planning on doing a brisket this weekend and wanted to test a generator out.

Hello and welcome to the SMF. What type of smoke generator are you talking about? A Smoke Pistol or something larger? I may be able to help you if it is a Smoke Pistol.

I just built a 55 gallon smoker and want to custom make a smoke generator. I have some idea on how they work but i am not sure. i was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me. Thanks!!

Bradley makes a stand alone smoke generator for customization. I use a Bradley that utilizes one. It's basically a chute that feeds bisquettes onto a heated platform where they smolder, about every twenty minutes a new bisquette will push the old one out of the way. I use the Bradley and an ECB. Like them both but have started using the Bradley predominantly. Great product.
