I just got my smoke daddy and am curious if u guys have any experience with them. If so what kind of smoke do u use it for? Cold or hot. Any advice or past experiences would be appreciated.

also how big of a smoker have u used it on ???

GOT14U I dont have one of those smoke daddys but I always thought they were designed to be a cold smoker for cheese and stuff. In my opinion you could put it on any sized smoker you want. The thing to keep in mind is that you want the smoker well ventilated so the smoke dont stagnate. The smoke coming out of it will be thick and white so let it flow thru the smoker fairly freely. You dont want the smoke so thick you cant see your hand in the back side of the smoker, you should be able to see through the smoke. Thats how I operate my cold smoker. When its not ventilated well enough the cheese gets a kind of mudy flavor to it. Im not an expert at it but thats how I do it with my cold smoker.

Your pics are the one that got me looking in to these. I just had forgot who had one on here. can't wait to use mine. will probably be 2 weeks tho. do to a storm coming in again for the weekend. I am done with winter. i sure wish mother nature would be also.that's what i thought also. and bacon and stuff like that. but i am also thinking of making a commercial 2 door fridge into a smoker and was thinking this would work for a smoke supply and then use a electric plate or 2 for a heat source. can't wait to try the cheese tho. with cold smokes do u still want the thin blue smoke ? i would think so but never realy asked

Yow I had the smoke daddy fired up big time to show the smoke. Because the grill doesn't really seal up I don't have to worry too much about too much smoke. The customer service was excellant with this product and it accents my grill much better then a smoke box. ( I have several of those also) I highly recommend this product!

I use mine for both hot and cold smoking. Here it is on my Bradley inside the garage. I have it piped through a spare chimney. Mainly I use this for Smoking bacon, sausage and cold smoking cheese. I use cooking pellets from http://cookingpellets.com
Also I got tired of trying to adjust the airflow so I bought the next smaller size pump. I use the larger one to get it going good then switch to the small one.
If you use a propane torch to lite it make sure to give it at least 1 minute.
I never fill it up all the way. The reason is it builds up a lot of moisture. Then the pellets swell and block the exit for the smoke. I found that 1/3 cup is plenty for lighting then once it's going you can add more. Occasionaly give it a tap on the side with a piece of wood as the pellets tend to stick to the sides.

PM me if you have any other questions

awsome info right here. thanks again and I'm sure i will be pming u in the future. I never thought of hooking it up to my MES. but it looks quit possible with how u have yours on the bradley. Does it give off enough or any heat so that u don't need to run the bradely during cold smokes ???

Ordered The Big Kahuna (Smoke Daddy) 2 months ago; I have used it only once, but it seems to be a great unit. I knew I would not be able to smoke sausage as I normally do this year (with moving we are not set up yet) in the dead of a ND winter so I ordered one to use this spring or summer on sausage. Pretty sure I am going to get quite a bit of use out of this between cold smoking and as an add on for grilling.

Somewhere on here there is a great post with mods to the smoke daddy. They piped it in better and added an elbow. It looked like a good Mod.
