Smoke Box placement?

I am wanting to build a double barrel smoker on a trailer. Basically welding the barrels together end to end. Should I put the smoke box on one end or on the middle in the back where the barrels are joined at?

mossy, morning..... That all depends on the type of smoker you are looking to build.... the firebox can go anywhere.... Direct heat, Side firebox, Reverse Flow, Center Firebox and many others....   Take the time to figure what would work best for your application and specific questions will be gladly answered...    Dave
