A couple of weeks ago I found a small hole dug in the middle of the back yard about 6" deep horizontal just under the sod. I didn't have a clue what did it or why. Nothing in it.
I scraped the dirt back in and didn't give it much thought.
Then Monday morning I was checking the plants and saw it had been dug up again! This time I could see something was in it. Looked like grayish black balls.
Baby rabbits. EIGHT of them.

I (and the little dog) had been chasing a rabbit out of the yard for a month. I've found baby rabbits before behind the Sage and Parsley next to the house but I never thought about them out in the open yard.
So I disposed of the bunnies and filled up the hole and seeded. I found it dug back up twice. She was looking for them.
Now it's come to this:

I found 2 places this morning where she started to dig, still looking for them.

Oh, and the Chipmunk War is on again this year.
This is #3: chipmunk.jpg
I live on the outskirts of a large city, not out in the country. What a PITA!

I hear you about the chipmunk. I spent 20 minutes chasing one out of my garage. With the door wide open he kept choosing not to run out it and keep hiding under my lawnmower right next to it. It was frustrating

Sitting in the garage with the door open I've seen them go under the car and jump up. Why they go up there I have no idea but it worries me.
My biggest issue is the way they'll climb a tomato plant, breaking the vines and taking a couple of bites out of the bottom of a ripe one.
The whole neighborhood is infested but most people think they're too cute. They don't have gardens. I got 10 last year...

I would be Bill Murray all over them. Glad we don't have them around here. The squirrels are bad enough.
