Vac sealer now then hint for a slicer for Christmas!
What he said!

I Have a vac sealer over 20 years old (time for a new one now) and it has worked great.  Hinted for a slicer, and got one for Christmas.

I use the sealer 20-30 times the use of the slicer.  Slicer is nice though, when you need it.

Not saying anything revolutionary here but I'd go with the vac sealer as well. I got a small slicer for Christmas last year (Chef's Choice) for small jobs (have a Hobart big boy if I'm slicing a ton of stuff) and it is very handy but I really wish I'd gotten a vac sealer instead.

Foam it would pay greatly for you to check your PMs

I have both and my vac sealer gets used more then my slicer ! i just vacuumed sealed about 20 pounds of meat and a friend smoked a brisket and some baby back ribs a couple months ago , the left overs we vacuumed sealed  . just as good the day he smoked them !

i would get the vacuum sealer first , better to protect your fresh meat for later use !

Happy smoking !
