side firebox on char-griller propane grill

I currently have a propane char griller pro , which I painted blue

I want to add the sidecar smoker box (which I will paint blue with the brake rotor paint s well) - my question is, has anyone here used the charcoal smoker box attached to the propane grill?

does it work well?

Any tips?
