I have a good friend in CT that always mails me great Christmas packages of cookies or something his wife makes.  I wanted to smoke a couple blocks of cheese and send them to him.  Not sure it's a good idea to pack into a flat rate box and priority mail?  Any thoughts?  I wouldn't want to do it in the summer heat, but not sure if it would survive the trip even in the winter?

I would not be afraid at tis time of year.  I'd use priority mail (2-3 days) to help save money on shipping.
