Anybody here have a spouse, or perhaps themselves...sew? My wife does.Tuesdays are Fat Quarter Guild days. She is the secretary of her group. She has a Pfaff machine, that also does quilting. Been talking about buying her a different machine, one that is lighter, for her to take to the guild and all of the classes she goes to. She came home today, all excited, she found another machine she wants. She visited someones place today to pick up some fabric for a quilt she is making for a fellow on another site I frequent. This fellow is a Vet who is fighting the big "C". Apparently this woman is moving into a new place and has to off load some of her 7 machines.

Ernie has only been at this hobby for a couple of years. She made me a beautiful quilt. It is on the bed right now, but it is covered with all the fabrics she got today, will take a picture of it when I get a chance. She has made our older 2 dogs there own quilts. Really happy she got involved with this. Nothing like a productive hobby...

Ask me two years ago, I could have given you a truckload of materials - except you're far away. I've tried like heck to find local quilters.

Ernestina went to an estate sale a year or so ago. Elderly woman just couldn't sew anymore, she was liquidating her 4000 square foot sewing room. Took several tractor trailers to move everything to the fair grounds. I gave Ernie $300, she came home with 8 stuffed large plastic totes of stuff....and $50 in her pocketbook still. I am truly grateful she got involved with sewing/quilting. She was spending her time in front of a computer playing solitaire. Now she is out of the house usually 2x a week, either at a class or the quild. Then there is her shopping trips and I was just informed they will be meeting at a friends house every Friday. Last spring she took off for 3 days to go to a class in Lewiston Idaho with 2 of her friends. I am hoping she learns to knit sometime soon...

My wife knits and sews. She prefers to knit. Has one whole bedroom full of yarn! She knits for a few hours each day.
what does she like to knit? My mother loved to knit, any and every thing she could. Have a dozen or so sweaters from her, sadly the extra 70 pounds or so I am lugging around stop me from wearing them...

All kinds of stuff. For xmass gifts this year she knitted two blankets, a couple scarfs, and a few stocking hats. Right now she is knitting some stocking hats to give to the  NICU at the hospital for preemie babies. She also knits slippers and even sweaters for our little dog.
