Hi all. New to the forum, first post, fairly new to smoking
I'm on the market for a new smoker. I've been using a large home made one for a couple of years made from a couple of oil drums. Which is great for parties and cooking heaps of meat. But it's a bit of a beast and uses a ton of fuel to keep temps good. I'm looking for something small that I can use on a more day to day basis, just to house a small joint or a couple of racks of ribs that I can pretty much just leave all day with minimal fuel. I've had a look about and the kamado grills seem interesting, but cost a fair bit, and I've seen some other steel upright smokers, but the metal seems a bit thin so temps might be a bit more time consuming to maintain. Anyone have any advice on what may be a good piece of kit for the job?
