I decided to take advantage of the weather, and assemble the propane smoker and season it, I also re-seasoned the charcoal smoker.

I was going to grill a london broil, but decided to see how it came out in the smoker. So, I gave it a dry rub and let it sit to dry for a few hours. Fired the propane smoker back up and smokes the beef and some taters. I let the beef smoke a little longer, being new to smoking. Smokes for three hours, could have taken it out after two for a perfect med-rare. Over all, it was a great meal. Enjoyed a nice cigar while tending the smoker, and had a couple beers.

It was about time we had a nice day up here! I took advantage of it as well and did some smoking. The London Broil looks great.

Nice looking meal. It's always a good feeling when you can fire up your smokers in comfort.

Point for sure.

I should have taken the beef out after two hours and let it rest. I like my steaks bloody. The fiancée, more of a med-rare gal, and that took some talking. LOL
Only been using a smoker for less then a year. But, it's addictive!
Like I have said before, I am keeping a journal to correct mistakes. But damn, the only thing I like better then cooking in the the smoker is cooking over coals while camping.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

That cut of meat you can cut med rare like flank steak. Thin and against the grain. But I use that for beef jerky when I can get it on sale. It's nice and lean. I love it for jerky. It works perfectly.

How were the potatoes and how long did you have them on there? I've actually never smoked a potato before!
they were in about 45 min, the Flavor was amazing but they could of stayed in a bit longer, next time I will put them in sooner and leave them in longer!

I did mine for about an hour and 20 minutes. At an hour they were still a bit to firm for me when I squeezed them with the tongs. I used a coating of EVO, sea salt, cracked black pepper, and a pinch of garlic. First time smoking taters and they came out awesome.
