I had some cherry tree given to me back in November 2012, power company was trimming away from power lines. I tried hawing some this weekend for a smoke and that stuff would nor burn. How long does ir need to season before u can use it

What Cliff said. Leaving it un-split will take about an inch per year to air dry. (From outside in).Did you cut it into sticks and split it in November? How big are they, 2" thick? 3"? 4" or bigger? Size matters when seasoning wood.
I have some cherry cut last September still in 5 and 6 foot logs. I cut and split one about a month ago( the splits are 8"-9" long by 2" thick) and they still need about 3-4 more weeks before they are ready to burn.
