Ive been looking for a good source of fist sized wood chunks. I know you can find it free and cut / age it but I just don’t have the time. I spend that time smoking :). Found a guy half hour away had full feedbacks of chunks for $25, buy 4 bags for $80. Very happily got some oak, apple , cherry and pear! Definitely set for awhile. Anyone near me in Ohio I can pass along the contact.

Great find! Easy way to store it and haul it to the smoker too. 1 bag at a time.

So on purchased wood how do you all gauge how well seasoned it is? Using some of my new apple and it seems to be putting off a lot of heavy white smoke initially may settle in to blue :). Noticed the apple and oak barks are both very tight on the wood still. None peeling away. The cherry is very light feeling weight wise and bark is peeling / falling from it.
