I've been watching for a used commercial slicer for a couple years but everything was out of reach. a couple weeks ago I was at camp BS'ing with a couple friends. I have my smoker at camp and I'm usually cooking something every weekend. We were talking Smoking and the subject of slicers came up. I commented on how I'd love to score one someday. My neighbor asks "Are you really looking for a big slicer?" I said yes but right now I really can't swing it. To make an already long story shorter, he said "I don't want anything for it. I need the room".
Well, Here it is. Not one of the big three, but it runs strong and quiet. negligible blade wobble. Weighs as much as my Silverado. But it is now MINE!
Sanitary brand slicer by the Sanitary Scale Co.
Had to try it.
Its missing the knob on the meat follower, but it's a non issue.
Looks like there was a sharpener but I think I'll Catch three Unicorns before I find one. I'll just send the blade out if it ever needs sharpening.
I've been watching some restoration people are doing on old equipment and may tear into this someday. Will it be worth the effort? Probably not. Will it be fun? Yes.
If anyone out there has any info on this beast, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for looking.
