I helped a coworker chop down a half-dead apple tree. The dead part is definitely seasoned, but the live part is pretty green.

For apple trees, about how long does it need to sit before its dry enough to burn? If I'm just adding a small log to the charcoal, does that make a difference?

The one i cut last year burned just fine as quartered logs after ~6 months.

Chunk it up now and you would be fine in half the time im sure.
