the day started pretty awesome with some real good powder turns at my favorite resort here in UT with minimal crowds. for a very iffy season this year - Sunday was redemption time.

the line up for the game was blue cheese guac, franks wings and fried pickles (first attempt). Here's the outcome:
  • Wings, these were good. Did a simple overnight soak in Franks and grilled on the gasser. Pretty standard wings. extra franks on the table with blue cheese and celery. I was gonna smoke them first, but lost motivation due to overdoing it riding in the AM.
  • Blue cheese guac - killer! Really like this mix - just blue cheese dressing, blue cheese crumbles and some jalapeno salt.
  • Fried pickles...the recipe was called something like "world famous.." uhuh. these things were salt bombs from h**l. we eaten them at restaurants and they are salty but OMG we couldn't even eat these. We will try again with mass salt reduction.
  • the game: brady is great...but the game was not as good a matchup as we woulda liked... oh well.
Highlight - Koger had BB ribs on sale for almost half price. grabbed a rack for later.

Sounds good, except for the salt issue. We only made half of what was planned, since we got full really quickly for some reason. Had grilled Shrimp with JJ's Fajita recipe. Pigs in a Blanket on the Air Fryer. And the star of the show, Calzones with Pillsbury crescent dough from Robert tx smoker tx smoker 's recipe a few weeks ago. Big thanks to Robert for that one, it turned out great. Sorry no pics this time, my bad, we had a lot of chores to do to be ready in time for the game. Agreed it wasn't anything like we were expecting, and disappointing.

Sounds good dave. Love fried pickles. We did queso and mississippi pot roast. Our kroger had bogo ribs so I picked up 4 for the freezer. Came out to 6.22 a rack. Didn't watch the game

Love fried pickles also! Too bad for yours, guess now you have an excuse to try again! Sounds like a pretty decent day overall

Started out thinking you had some awesome down hill or cross country skiing in fresh powder.
Then I realized you were riding snow machine or snow sled in Minnesotan.

Good menu. I didn't do anything as outdoor temps were well below zero F. I can get heat in the kettle, but I'm not happy tending the cook. Wife made bean dip.

Didn't watch the game
Wife did not and I did a few random minutes.

Blue cheese guac??? Please tell me more (unless that was all of it and I'm missing something). Sounds right up the wife and myself's alley.
