Tonight a 6:46pm the space station passed overhead from the Northwest to the Southeast and 30 seconds behind it was the shuttle chasing it to join up with it. It was amazing, now I can say I've seen from Sputnik in 57 till now.
Saw the ISS the other night meownself. It truely is an awesome site, and yes it's visible with the naked eye. Most clear nights I'll have the telescope out and you can see some really neat stuff!!
Thanks for posting the link 'hawk. I was trying to find a link from one of the stargazer websites. Looks like I get another oppertunity to see the ISS again tonight.
AJ, I think they will have joined up by tonight, last night the space shuttle hadn't caught the ISS yet. It it very easy to see and the speed will amaze you when you realize it's that high up and moves that fast.
Many a night I have sat in the hot tub watching the heavens. There are still lots of old satellites up there that are pretty easy to spot as they pass overhead.
