Greetings All,

Here is my situation. After many failed attempts at making my own sauce I finally make a decent one and now I've got co-workers asking if they can buy bottles of it. I've got pricing figured out, and I'm not looking to start a company, but what I need is advice for where to find quality inexpensive bottles, hidden costs in making more than a batch for a cook, etc. In other words, what words of wisdom do you folks have for making this a fun and beneficial experience?

Thanks in advance.

Just be careful, take your time, and make certain you carry the safety and cleanliness from your smaller batches to bottling your own.

A co-worker cans his own ketchup, hot sauce, vegetables, and meat.  Even after 20+ years of doing it, he spent a litte time in hosipital recently due to botulism.

Even though it is "just hot sauce" you need to maintain control and avoid the pitfalls.  You can never be TOO clean and too careful.

Good luck with it!

Give them the recipe.
Selling it is definitely a bad idea.
Giving it away is a bit different, but you're still taking a risk.
Don't risk everything you have for a few bottles of sauce.

...just kidd'n

It's your call, sharing is ok.

Thank you for your input guys. Sharing recipies is what I normally do; I just needed to make sure I wasn't looking a gift horse in the mouth.
