Has anybody used grated orange peel ( the dried and bottled kind from McCormics)  in their rub. Seems like it would mate well with pork and chicken...beef too for that matter. Just wondered if it would burn and become bitter rather than rehydrate from the meat jucies and impart a citrus note to the overall flavor?

I use a "Mcormick's Grill Mate rub" that has orange in it for a seasoning salt on a lot of foods, but never smoked with it, I think you will be ok for smoking I also don't thing you will even taste the orange flavor.
