I came across a venison roast from 2010 in the bottom of my freezer, I was just wondering if its still ok to eat?

I would hate to have to pitch it.

That's a long time. Most folks say that after a year quality & texture start to degrade. I try to get stuff used up way before that. How was it stored? Was it vacuum sealed? Is there any freezer burn? Give it a good looking over & smell it for sure. If properly wrapped & stored it will probably be ok. You could always make chili
