i visited the museum of the montana historical society in helena last week and this display caught my eye. typical native american scene before the arrival of lewis and clark....

no salt, no nitrates or cures, no seasonings - no dehydrators, flash-freezers etc.....just the way mama nature intended, maybe a little smoke drifting over from the campfire....

Ah yes...the good old days... average life expentancy about 35. Parasites were common. Infant mortality God knows what... I miss them.
